Normally, any one without iOS software knowledge can bypass lock screen passcode and access photos and contacts on your iPhone, iPad Air, iPad Mini or iPod Touch running on iOS 10.2 up to iOS 9.
Actually, this is not a method or trick to bypass lock screen passcode for iOS 10.2, but you can say it’s iOS 10.2 bug or vulnerability. In last week of previous month, this so called lock screen bypass came into light when many users have access contacts and photos without passcode.
Additionally, users were able to access countless free apps on Apple AppStore without filling up password for your account. One can use all these on their iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, iPhone 4S, iPad Mini, iPad Air and all older devices that can run iOS 10.2 or later up to iOS 9.
While running iOS 10.2 and couple of older firmware up to iOS 9, it was discovered that if you input wrong password couple of times frequently, during the last try the passcode unlock happens.
Using Siri, virtual assistant, one can access Contacts, Photos and AppStore free apps with the above method. However, it is being said that the exploit would be patch up during next major iOS update and Apple would prevent bypassing lock screen passcode.
According to Apple, they’ve patched the vulnerabilities and couple of more bugs from iOS 10.2 which is gonna release in upcoming months with iPad Pro. This patch would work on iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 5G, iPad 2 and all newer iOS devices.
Apple has stated with a quote in a log file of iOS 10.2 beta firmware that this bug or bypass won’t happen again on iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPod Touch most current version and all other newer models which run on iOS 10.2.
However, it’s a matter of searching more and more exploits from iOS 10.2 and older firmware to jailbreak iOS 10.2. I’m sure, the jailbreak teams have started to look after.
Suppose, there is a jailbreak 10 available, what would you do?
